Charitable organizations may benefit from non-fungible projects, even when huge brands join the NFT sphere and drop multi-million dollar collections. During the Make March Matter Campaign, the Cool Crypto Kids NFT initiative raised money for Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), one of the nation's premier pediatric hospitals.
Kinestry, a Los Angeles-based company, and present and past CHLA patients collaborated to create the "Cool Crypto Kids" project. With the money raised through the auction, which goes live on Rarible on March 31st, the CHLA is able to provide financial assistance to families facing the financial burden of medical expenses.
Our medical expenditures for just three weeks in the hospital when my mum passed away from cancer in 2017 approached $750,000, Jay Velasco, Co-Founder of CCK, stated. We believe that NFTs and Web3 fundraising outlets will help lower-income and disadvantaged families have equal access to medical treatments and democratize research, which can make a real impact.
As part of its second NFT drop, Cool Crypto Kids wants to attract as many high-profile singers, artists, and influencers as possible who care about CHLA and the children receiving treatment there.
