Galerie Kreo, Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby, and Galerie Kreo are excited to present their first NFT collection together, "Signal C4V". It will be available to buy on OpenSea at the beginning of May 2022.
Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby debuted their first solo show with Galerie Kreo in London in February 2022 with a set of lights named "Signals." The collection, which is presently on display at the gallery's Paris site, exemplifies the designers' long-standing love of color and form and includes eight different versions, comprising ceiling lights, wall lights, and floor lights.
"Signal C4V" will be the ninth and last model of "Signals," available only online in the form of an NFT. "Signal C4V" is the first NFT for both Jay Osgerby & Galerie Kreo and Edward Barber, ushering in a new era in the NFT area and digital arena for design.
The "Signal C4V" collection will be created, shown, and sold solely online, with a total of 136 NFTs - a symbolic number reflecting the "Signals" event itself, which was the 136th exhibition at Galerie Kreo since its inception in 1999.
A tribute to Galerie Kreo's heritage of making products in special releases of eight, these 136 NFTs will be made available in 17 multi-token bundles of eight (ERC-1155). At every one of the 17 stages, a different colour combination will be used to contrast the item and its surroundings.
The "Signal C4V" lamp is unique in that it is able to twirl and sparkle without the need for any wires or cables, but the NFT still retains the essence of the "Signals" series.
All the "Signals" series' hallmarks can be found here: a clever geometrical play with rectangular forms and conical shadows, as well as an uncommon relationship to color. This time, Barber and Osgerby, well-known for their constant experimentation with color - a feature particularly emphasized throughout their career - try something new: the colorful possibilities of the digital realm.
