The Pictures of Dorian Gray: Murderabilia.
The principal character in Oscar Wilde's novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray, sold his soul so that the faults he committed would not harm his own good looks but rather his portrait. While he was able to keep his Eternal Youth look, the painting revealed the actual condition of his soul.
We recognized that by merging Facial Expression Recognition Technology, Psychology, and AI Art, we might be able to create a picture of someone that discloses their true essence for everyone to see.
Facial Expression Recognition Software reliably analyses people's facial expressions in photos and videos. We used it in the book Murderabilia to look at pictures of famous murderers and figure out how they felt and what they did.
The images were then transformed into artistic renderings using AI Art software. We were able to confidently translate the findings of the Facial Expression output onto the artistic interpretations since the Art Algorithm is absolutely repeatable and devoid of human bias. We were also able to make one-of-a-kind works of art that showed the spirit of the person in a visual way.
However, we went a step further. The Facial Expression Recognition Software was then used to analyze these creative renderings, with surprising findings. Many of the delicate details of the pictures were enhanced by the AI Art Algorithm, making elements that were previously imperceptible to the human eye prominent. We have been able to greatly increase the number of emotions that the program can recognize. We also think we may have found ways to find signs of serious disease and damage.
This has far-reaching consequences not just for the NFT arena, but also for scientific research since it opens the door to face recognition technology being used for medical diagnostics as well as identification.
We also employed AI Art software to turn the serial murderers' depictions into various types of art as an extra bonus and purely creative endeavor. Individuals' physical appearances, ages, races, and genders were all altered as a result of the procedure. The goal is to test whether, after eliminating all the numerous factors from the equation, it is still feasible to identify or detect that intangible negative quality that is their essence on a purely instinctive level. Can we separate and identify 'Evil' itself to some extent? It also delves into the essence of diversity and identity.
It also poses identity and diversity issues. Who would we be if we were born someplace else and assumed a different identity? Would we have gotten the same results? How much of our personality is a result of Nature and how much is a result of Nurture? It also forces us to address our prejudices: are we more or less inclined to believe someone is guilty or innocent depending on how their racial, ethnic, and cultural history resembles, or varies from ours?
